Raise Awareness Through The Media
Contact the media in your area (TV, radio, newspapers) and ask them to do stories on individuals whose lives have been affected by brain tumors. Most people who haven’t been affected by a brain tumor don’t realize the extent of the problem or the impact it has on those affected. Personal stories bring that reality to light and can help motivate people to contribute to the fight against Brain Tumors.
Educate yourself about brain tumors. This information is useful in lobbying and educating the media. Participate in the Hidden Under Our Hats – National Brain Tumor Awareness Project.
Opportunities to serve as an advocate in these organizations come on an occasional basis. Check the news sections of their websites, subscribe to their newsletters, or check back here with Brain Tumor Action Network so that you’ll know when applications are being accepted for these positions.
