Paul is the father of Alannah Kathryn McKay, who succumbed to glioblastoma multiforme in August 2000 at age five. He is also a past President of the David A. Nass Jr. Memorial Foundation. He has served as Co-Chair (2005-2006) and Vice Chairman (2003/2004) of the North American Brain Tumor Coalition, and currently sits on the NABTC Board of Directors. He has been an active patient advocate for several years, consulting with the National Cancer Institute through its Consumer Advocates for Research and Related Activities program. Paul was a contributor and technical reviewer for the book “Childhood Brain and Spinal Cord Tumors, A Guide for Families, Friends and Caregivers”. Paul is also a telecommunications engineer. He is currently the President and Director of the Brain Tumor Action Network, which is an active member of the North American Brain Tumor Coalition.
