Kristina is the surviving spouse of Thomas Patrick McAlvanah, who passed away on December 10, 2003 after a 33 month battle with glioblastoma multiforme. Tom had 2 craniotomies, radiation and endured 28 months of chemotherapy. Kristina has an Associates Degree in Science. She has worked as a Paralegal and researcher in the legal field for 12 years, specializing in real estate, corporate, municipal law, wills, trusts and probate law. She has been a patient advocate and volunteer at the Neuro-Oncology Program at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. She has hosted 2 successful fund raising events for the American Brain Tumor Association and the Neuro-Oncology Program at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. Kristina resides in the Tampa Bay Area. She is a mother of 4 (Valerie, Michael, Krystal and Bryan). She is the stepmother to Timothy and has 1 grandson (Gavin). She is currently the Secretary, Treasurer and Director of the Brain Tumor Action Network, which is an active member of the North American Brain Tumor Coalition. Kristina served as chairperson for Brain Tumor Action Week 2005 in Washington, DC.
