Natalie is currently receiving chemotherapy at St. Jude. She is doing well. Dr. Sanders has given her a 70 percent chance of survival over the next five years.
Kristen continues to be a stay-at-home mother, while Andrew does part-time work as a financial adviser, which allows him to work from home. The family also receives financial assistance from local organizations and fundraisers held in Natalie’s name.
Andrew and 3-year-old Carson flew to Memphis for the holidays, and the family celebrated Christmas together. Natalie met Santa for the first time and had her first carousel ride.
The baby spent the day in a new red corduroy dress, purchased by Andrew.
Kristen wrote on her blog about Natalie’s first Christmas outfit: “This dress is more than just a dress to me. It was picked out with love, and embedded in the fabric of the dress there is a vibrancy of life to it. This dress probably would not have been purchased if we were still at home on hospice.”
The family is making plans to celebrate Natalie’s first birthday in February. They hope she will be cancer-free.
